At Abbett, we value community, student growth and active learning. Inclusion is at the core of everything we do. Throughout the school year, we host a variety of annual events that celebrate our diverse student body, honor individual and group achievements and bring our community together. These events create opportunities for students and families to connect and learn from one another.
Hispanic Heritage Month (Mid-September to Mid-October)
Each fall, we honor Hispanic Heritage Month through classroom activities and cultural learning. We wrap up the celebration with a lively Fiesta in mid-October where students share what they’ve learned with music, food and fun.
Annual Halloween “Tunnel Treat”
On Halloween morning, our decorated school tunnel becomes a festive and safe trick-or-treat path for students. It’s a fun tradition that brings our community together and gives kids a joyful way to celebrate.
Black History Month
In February, we celebrate Black History Month with lessons and guest speakers centered around a meaningful theme. The month ends with a Showcase where students present their learning and honor the impact of Black leaders and changemakers.
Student Leadership at Abbett
As a Conscious Discipline School, we’re proud to build student leaders. Students take on daily responsibilities like leading morning video announcements, raising the flag and serving as school escorts and ambassadors.
AAPI Heritage Celebration
Each spring, we celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month through student projects and classroom learning. The celebration ends with an outdoor event that highlights culture, community and creativity.
Student Awards & Promoting Positivity
At our school, we believe in recognizing and celebrating student growth, effort and kindness. Through monthly and quarterly awards, we highlight students who show leadership, perseverance, respect and a positive attitude. By promoting positivity, we create a school culture where every child feels seen, supported and inspired to be the best versions of themselves.
